Letters Type III Reverse Variety 3
Obverse 6 is observed with date placement at RE and repaired tops of '(S)TATE(S)'.
Type III Reverse F is observed with Class III Hub Doubling of ON(E).
Comments:
Reverse
F was originally hubbed from a Type III reverse hub and subsequently
reworked with a Type I denomination punch in order to strengthen the
denomination. Since Reverse F was originally hubbed with a Type III
reverse working hub, Reverse F is correctly classified as a Type III
Reverse.

S.L. Type III Reverse Variety 3 was first identified by Paul Nomes, who submitted the above plate coin during mid February 2021.
