Comments:  Date placement is LH.  Repunching to the south is visible within the upper loop of the 8.  This obverse features a broken and repaired E of STATES.  Some working dies were impressed from a working hub from 1860 with either the E or ES of STATES broken.  Some of the aforementioned working dies were repaired, as was the working die that struck this obverse.
