Obverse 28 is observed with date placement at B and has acquired clash marks from several clashing events with Reverse AAD.

Reverse AAD has acquired clash marks from several clashing events with Obverse 28.  Reverse AAD has developed a small die break below O(N)E and the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the denticles at 12:30 extends downward through the field.
2.  Die crack segment extends through the right wreath between 1:30 and 4:00.
3.  Radial die crack from the rim at 2:45 extends into the right wreath and intersects die crack #2.
4.  Die crack from the rim at 3:00 extends into the right wreath and intersects die crack #2.
5.  Die crack from the denticles at 4:15 extends upward into the lowest arrowhead.
6.  Die crack from the denticles at 5:00 extends upward through the wreath stem and into the ribbon knot
Rev. AAD.2:  The Reverse AAD die crack from 3:00 has now become more severe.
Rev. AAD.3:  The Reveerse AAD die crack continues to become more severe and the small die break below O(N)E has enlarged.
Rev. AAD.4:  A retained cud has now formed between 3:00 and 4:00.
Rev. AAD.5:  A cud has now formed in the area between 3:00 and 4:00.

Comments:  Variety 20 is characterized by a late die state and numerous clash marks from clashing events between Obverse 28 and Reverse AAD during various degrees of working die rotations.

The Reverse AAD small die break below the O(N)E is a result of advanced die state and should not be regarded as an attribution point for earlier die states of Reverse AAD.

The Variety 20 Die Pairing and the Variety 20b Die State were first identified by Russell Doughty, who kindly allowed me to use his images to illustrate Variety 20 and Variety 20b.  Variety 20c was identified by this author during early May 2017 and Variety 20d was first brought to my attention by a coin listed for sale during late September 2015 by Vincent Castellano.  Vincent was very kind in allowing me to use his images to illustrate variety 20d for this book.
