Obverse 41 is observed with date placement at RE and a die break on the
top side of the ninth feather. Oberse 41 has acquired clash
marks
between feathers 7, 8 and 9 from a clashing event with Reverse AAS. Obverse 41 has developed the following die crack: 1. Die crack segment that connects the bases of the 8 and 6 of the date.
Reverse AAS is rotated 4 degrees clockwise. Reverse AAS has developed a cud between 11:30 and 12:30 and has
acquired clash marks to the right of the denomination from a clashing
event with Obverse 41. Reverse AAS has developed the following die cracks: 1. Die crack from the rim at 1:00 downward along the outer edge of the right wreath. 2. Die crack from the rim at 3:45 upward through the right wreath.
Comments:
Reverse AAS will subsequently be retired from service based on the development of the die break and Obverse 41 will resume service paired with Reverse AAAL during the 1864 Bronze Variety 38 Die Pairing.
