Obverse 49 is identified by date placement at RE, working hub artifact
between 'S(TA)TES' and date repunching that features initial date
impressions to the north above the base and horizontal cross bar of the
4. Obverse 49 has acquired a clash mark in front of the eye
of Miss Liberty from a clashing event with Reverse AAAD.
Reverse AAAD is rotated 5 degrees counter clockwise. Reverse
AAAD has acquired a clash mark through (C)ENT from a clashing event
with Obverse 49 and has developed heavy die flow lines and the
following die cracks:
1. Die crack from the denticles at 12:30 into the upper right
side of the shield.
2. Die crack from the denticles at 3:15 into the right wreath.
3. Die crack from the denticles at 8:15 into the left wreath.
4. Die crack from the denticles at 9:30 into the left wreath.
5. Die crack from the denticles at 10:30 into the left wreath.

32 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above
plate coin during late August 2019 for inclusion in this book based on
the date repunching of Obverse 49.
Examination of Variety 32 reveals differing die states, with Obverse 49
exhibiting no die flow lines and Reverse AAAD
exhibiting heavy die flow lines. Based on the
contrasting die states of Obverse 49 and Reverse AAAD, it is clear that
Reverse AAAD was in service prior to Variety 32. The
