Clash Mark Located Above ON(E)

Obverse 58 is observed with date placement at C and has acquired a clash mark between feather 9 and the hair curl from a clashing event with Reverse AAAQ.

Reverse AAAQ has acquired a clash mark above ON(E) from a clashing event with Obverse 58.  Reverse AAAQ has developed the following die cracks:
1.  Moderately heavy die crack from the rim at 12:45 extends across the top of the shield and exits into the rim at 11:30.
2.  Die crack from the rim at 2:45 extends upward through the right wreath and exits into the rim at 1:15.
3.  Die crack from the rim at 7:45 extends across through the olive leaves and ribbon knot, where it continues along the the middle arrow shaft.
4.  Heavy die crack from the rim at 11:00 extends downward through the left wreath.  The severity of this die crack has created a bi-level field area located at the upper portion of the die crack.

Comments:   Reverse AAAQ, which features heavy die flow lines, is the more advanced in die state compared to Obverse 58.  The difference in die state indicates Reverse AAAQ was in service prior to Variety 41.

Variety 41 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during mid May 2021 for inclusion in this book based on the die die cracking of Reverse AAAQ.
