David's Numismatic Blog1864 Bronze Variety 7
Obverse Diagnostics
 Date Position
| Repunched 4 to the West |
Obverse 13 is identified by repunching to the west on the 4, with date placement at LH.
Reverse P is rotated 173 degrees counter clockwise
Comments: Ed
Nathanson was kind enough to submit his coin to be photographed during
March 2015. The large reverse rotation of reverse P is also
evident on a MS63RB example, which is plated in Rick Snow's book.
Ed's coin and the Snow plate coin are in early die state, so
later die state examples of variety 7 will need to be located to
determine if die rotation changes over time.
