Obverse 16

Reverse S

Obverse Diagnostics

Repunched 86 to the North

*Close-up of date is courtesy of the Flying Eagle and Indian Cent Attribution Guide, by Rick Snow

Comments:  Date placement is B.  Obverse 16 is identified by repunching to the north on the 86.  Rick Snow indicates that clash marks are visible in front of the forehead and between the feathers.  I assume the clash marks are from a clash from reverse S.

According to Rick Snow, reverse S is identified by a triangular die chip visible below the right edge of the left foot of the N of ONE.  In addition, he indicates that die stage B is observed with a die crack at 12:30 and clash marks from obverse 16 are found to the right of the denomination and through the C of CENT.

Plate Coin:  none available
