Obverse 46 is observed with date placement at C and repaired tops of 'TE' of STATES. Obverse 46 has developed heavy die erosion, rim breakage between 9:45 and 2:00 and the following die cracks:
1. Die crack connecting the tops of 'OF'.
2. Die crack from the denticles at 3:15 downward connecting the tops of 'RIC' of AMERICA and exiting into the denticles at 4:30.
3. Light die crack connecting the tops of UNITED.
Obv. 46.2: Obverse 46 has now developed rim breakage between 6:00 and 6:30.

Reverse AAAA is in a similar die state as Obverse 46, with the presence of heavy die erosion. Reverse AAAA has developed die breaks under the crossbar of the E Of ONE and under the right arm of the T of CENT, as well as the following die cracks:
1. Die crack between 10:45 and 12:45.
2. Die crack through the olive leaves.
3. Die crack through the ribbon knot.
4. Die cracks along the arrow shafts.
Rev. AAAA.2: Reverse AAAA has now developed a retained cud between 10:45 and 12:45.

Comments: Variety 19a was first identified by this author during late December 2018.

During mid January 2019, Paul Nomes submitted an earlier die state of Variety 19 prior to the Reverse AAAA retained cud. Paul's example features a die crack between 10:45 and 12:45 that will progressively become more severe, which will result in the Reverse AAAA.2 retained cud.
