Retained Cud Between 2:15 and 3:30

Die Crack From Retained Cud

Die Crack In Left Wreath

Partial Cud Between 10:30 and 11:30

Obverse 14 is observed with date placement at B.

Reverse N develops a retained cud between 2:15 and 3:30 and a partial cud between 10:30 and 11:30.  Reverse N develps the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the southern section of the retained cud down through the wreath to the lowest arrowhead.
2.  Die crack in the left wreath that continues upward through the wreath.

Comments:  The Reverse N partial cud between 10:30 and 11:30 may not be accurately termed a cud, since the area between 10:30 and 11:30 has not fully separated from the working die body.  I have used the term 'partial cud' rather than die crack, since the section at 11:30 has begun to separate from the die body.  As a result, I anticipate a later die state of Reverse N to yield a cud between 10:30 and 11:30.

Variety 14 was first identified by this author during mid August 2016.
