Comments:  Variety 2 was first brought to my attention by the above plate coin listed within the inventory of David Kahn Rare Coins.  This coin was part of the Westmoreland Collection of One Cent Errors, where this die variety was first identified by the owner of that collection.  David Kahn of David Kahn Rare Coins was gracious in allowing me to use his images to illustrate variety 2 for this book.
