Hub-Through Artifacts in Shield

Obverse 11 is observed with date placement at B.
Obv. 11.2:  Cud forms between 6:00 and 6:30.

Reverse I is rotated 5 degrees clockwise and is identified by hub-through artifacts within the vertical shield lines of the shield.  Reverse I develops the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the denticles at 3:00 upward through the right wreath.
2.  Die crack from the denticles at 9:00 downward through the left wreath.

Comments:  The reverse I artifacts seen within the vertical shield lines are the result of material that was caught between the working hub and working die during the hubbing impressions of reverse I, hence the term 'hub-through'.

Variety 9 was first brought to my attention during 2016 through the above plate coin in the inventory of KMS Future Investments Corporation.  Variety 9a was subsequently identified by this author during early November 2016.

Plate Coin (Variety 9):  KMS Future Investments Corporation, VG10
Plate Coin (Variety 9a):  Keith Bock Collection
