Reverse N.3 Primary Die

Obverse 16 is identified by date placement at LE and die file marks
below the ear and through the ribbon.
Reverse N has yet to be observed with any die markers. Rev. N.2:
Reverse N has developed the following die cracks:
1. Moderately heavy die crack from the rim at 3:00 that
extends downward through the oak leaves, the two lower arrowheads and
the right ribbon end, where it exits into the rim at 5:00.
2. Die crack from the rim at 8:45 extends downward through
the lowest olive leaf and into the olive leaves. Rev. N.3:
Reverse N has developed the following die cracks:
1. A die crack has split from the Reverse N.2 die crack at
3:30, where it extends upward through the right wreath.
2. A radial die crack from the rim at 7:00 extends upward
through the arrow quill to the olive leaf above.
Comments: Several
1875 obverses exhibit die file marks similar in location to that of
Obverse 16. Recognizing the direction that the die file marks
extend and the specific obverse attributes of each obverse will be
necessary for accurate attributions.
