Reverse Z.2 Die Crack Mapping

Obverse 28 is identified by date placement at RH and a die artifact in the denticles above UNI(T)ED.  Obverse 28 has developed a light clash mark in front of the eye of Miss Liberty from a clashing event with Reverse Z.  Obverse 28 exhibits extra outlines on 'UNITED STATES', with the extra outlines heavier on 'UNITED'.

Reverse Z is rotated 5 degrees clockwise and is identified by lint hub-throughs at 2:30 in the right wreath and in the denticles at 1:30.  Reverse Z has acquired clash marks through (C)ENT and to the right of the denomination from a clashing event with Obverse 28.  Reverse Z has developed the following die cracks:
1.  Light die crack along the outer edge of the right wreath between 2:00 and 2:45.
2.  Moderately heavy die crack from the rim at 3:00 downward through the right wreath to the rim at 4:45.
3.  Light die crack from the denticles at 5:45 upward through the wreath stem and right ribbon end.
4.  Die crack from the rim at 7:45 along the lower edge of the middle olive leaf and into the lower olive leaf.
5.  Light die crack from the denticles at 8:45 upward through the left wreath.
6.  Die crack from the denticles at 10:30 downward through the left wreath.
Rev. Z.2:  The lower section of the die crack between 3:00 and 4:45 and the die crack from 7:45 have become more severe.

Comments:  Reverse Z is observed with lint hub-throughs primarily on the right side, with several located within the right wreath and within the denticles.

Variety 26 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during late August 2019 for inclusion in this book based on the die cracking of Reverse Z.
