Obverse 29 is identified by date placement at LH and die file marks below the ear and through the ribbon.
Reverse AA has yet to be observed with any die markers.
Comments: Variety 27 was
first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin
during mid May 2020 for inclusion in this book based on the die file
marks of Obverse 29. Several
1875 obverses exhibit die file marks similar in location to that of
Obverse 29. Recognizing the direction that the die file marks
extend and the specific obverse attributes of each obverse will be
necessary for accurate attributions.
