Reverse C Die Crack Mapping
Obverse 5 is observed with date placement at C. Obverse 5 has
developed the following die cracks:
1. Die crack from the rim at 4:30 extends upward along the

Reverse C may be identified by a localized area of lint hub-throughs

2 was first identified in 'The
Cud Book' by Sam Thurman and Arnold Margolis, with a
reference number of IC-1876-1R-Ret. The above plate coin is
the IC-1876-1R-Ret Plate Coin in the 'Cud Book'.
Although identified as a retained cud, the Reverse C section between
8:15 and 9:00 is more accurately described as a partial cud, since this
section has not yet separated from the working die body.
