Obverse 23 is observed with date placement at RH and partially broken bases of both 8 digits and partially broken top of the second 8.  Obverse 23 has acquired clash marks in front of the face of Miss Liberty from a clashing event with Reverse V.  Obverse 23 is observed with die lines from the base of the portrait downward touching the first 8 and 0 of the date.

Reverse V is rotated 8 degrees counter clockwise and has acquired a clash mark through the C of CENT from a clashing event with Obverse 23.  Reverse V is observed with a die anomaly through the upper left side of the shield. Reverse V develops the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the denticles at 12:45 to the top right of the shield.
2.  Die crack from the cud diagonally through the wreath to a point at 3:00.
3.  Die crack within the right wreath from 2:30 to 3:30 and intersecting die crack #2.
4.  Die crack from the cud downward through the right edge of the right wreath throught the middle arrowhead to the lowest arrowhead.
5.  Die crack between 7:00 and 8:00 within the olive leaves.
6.  Light die crack from the rim at 7:45 into the middle olive leaf.
7.  Die crack from the denticles at 9:45 downward through the left edge of the left wreath to the top olive leaf.

Comments:  Variety 21 was first identified by Paul Nomes, who submitted the above plate coin during early November 2018 for inclusion in this book based on the Reverse V cud.
