Obverse 25 is identified by date placement at LH, broken top loop of
the 3 and date repunching that features an initial date impression to
the north above the lower loop of the 3.
Reverse Y has developed the following die cracks:
1. Die crack from the denticles at 5:00 through the wreath
stem and into the ribbon knot.
2. Die crack along the top of the shield.
Comments: Obverse
25
features what appears to be a partially broken upper loop of the 3.
The partially broken upper loop of the 3 was apparently later
repaired, since subsequent digit punch impressions on 1883 cent
obverses show a thicker 3 with a notch at the top of the upper loop
where the 3 was once broken. The following illustrates the
broken top 3 digit along with the repaired 3 digit with additional
breakage located at the bottom of the lower loop.

Ed Nathanson, who initially submitted the above plate coin to Rick Snow
where it was assigned the Snow 20 die pairing number.
