Obverse 17 is observed with date placement at LH and has developed heavy die flow lines and the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the rim at 4:00 upward through the right wreath, connecting the tops of 'OF AMER'.
2.  Die crack from the denticles at 2:15 downward into die crack #1.
3.  Die crack from 4:00 from die crack #1 downward, connecting the tops of AMER(ICA) and continuing into die crack #4 at 5:00.
4.  Die crack from the denticles at 5:00, connecting the bases of the digits of the date.
5.  Die crack from the lower hair curl closest to the ribbon and extending to the top of the first 8 of the date.
6.  Die crack from the ribbon extending across through the bust point to the (U)NITED.
7.  Die crack connecting the tops of 'UNITED S' of UNITED STATES and exiting at the denticles at 10:00.
8.  Die crack from the denticles at 10:15 connects the tops of STA(TES) and exits into the denticles at 11:30.
9.  Die crack from die crack #8 connect the tops of (STA)TES.

Reverse S is in a similar die state as Obverse 17, with the advancement of heavy die flow lines.  Reverse S develops the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the denticles at 3:30 downward through the middle and lower arrowheads, right ribbon end and wreath stem to the denticles at 5:15.
2.  Two die cracks from the rim at 7:45 merge and extend through the lower olive leaves.
3.  Die crack from the rim at 8:30 upward through the left wreath to the denticles at 9:45.
4.  Die crack from the top olive leaf upward where it intersects die crack #3 at 8:45.  A small die break forms at the intersection of die cracks #3 and #4.
5.  Die crack from the denticles at 11:15 into the upper left side of the shield.

Comments:  Variety 14 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during mid November 2018 for inclusion in this book based on the Obverse 17 and  Reverse S die cracking.
