Obverse 20 is identified by date placement at B, date repunching that features initial date impressions to the southwest within the lower loops of both 8 digits and a horizontal artifact above the crossbar of the 4.

Reverse V has acquired a clash mark through (C)ENT.

Comments:  Though the impression within the lower loop of the second 8 is not as clear compared to that of the first 8, I suspect that the Obverse 20 initial date impressions within the lower loops of the 8 digits are from the tops of the 8 digits of the initial date impression.

The Obverse 20 artifact above the crossbar of the 4 may possibly be the impression of the top of the 4 from a second initial date impression to the southwest, but independent of the initial date impressions found within the lower loops of the 8 digits.

Variety 17 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during mid May 2021 for inclusion in this book based on the date repunching of Obverse 20.
