Obverse 50 is identified by date placement at RE and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the west within the lower loops of the second and third 8 digits.  Obverse 50 has developed a rim break between 6:45 and 7:45 and has acquired clash marks located left of the head of Miss Liberty and between feathers 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 from a clashing event with Reverse AW.

Reverse AW has acquired clash marks located right of the denomination from a clashing event with Obverse 50.

Comments:  Variety 48 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during mid May 2021 for inclusion in this book based on the rim break of Obverse 50.
