Repunched 1 and First 8

Repunched 9 and Last 8


Obverse 52 is identified by date placement at C and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the south below the serif and base of the 1, to the south within both loops of the first 8, to the north within both loops of the 9 and to the north within the lower loop of the last 8.  Obverse 52 has developed heavy die flow lines.

Reverse AAA is in a similar die state as Obverse 52, with the advancement of heavy die flow lines.

Comments:  Variety 47 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during late July 2018 for inclusion in this book based on the Obverse 52 date repunching.
