Date Position

Repunched Date (Click Image To Enlarge)

Obverse 59 is identified by date placement at C and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the northeast within the lower loop of the first 8, to the north within the upper loop of the 9 and to the south within the lower loop and below the right side of the upper loop of the second 8.

Reverse AAG has yet to be observed with any die markers.

Comments:  Although the Obverse 59 initial date impressions are quite minor, the initial date impressions of the second 9 are more conspicuous in comparison.

Variety 54 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during early January 2022 for inclusion in this book based on the date repunching of Obverse 59.
