Obverse 4 is identified by date placement at RH and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the east above the right base and to the south below the base of the 1; to the south below the upper loop, to the east from the ball and to the southeast from the lower right of the 9; to the west from the lower left side, to the east and west within and to the southeast from the lower right of the 0; to the west from the lower ball of the 3.  Obverse 4 is observed with proof like surfaces.
Obv. 4.2:  Obverse 4 has developed moderately heavy to heavy die flow lines, acquired clash marks from a clashing event with Reverse D and has developed a small die break atop the eighth feather.

Reverse D is observed with proof like surfaces.
Rev. D.2:  Reverse D has developed moderately heavy to heavy die flow lines and has acquired clash marks from a clashing event with Obverse 4.

Comments:  The lighter initial date impressions around the 1, 9 and 0 were previously unidentifed prior to publication in this book.

Variety 3a was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the Variety 3a Plate Coin during mid May 2020 for inclusion in this book based on the formation of the eighth feather die break of Obverse 4.
