Clash Marks To The Right Of Denomination

Obverse 94 is identified by date placement at LH and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the north within both loops of the 9 and to the east within both loops, as well as to the north within the lower loop of the 6.
Obv. 94.2:  Obverse 94 has acquired clash marks in front of the eye of Miss Liberty and between feathers 5-9 from a clashing event with Reverse AAAT.

Reverse AAAT is observed with die file marks above the shield.
Rev. AAAT.2:  Reverse AAAT has acquired clash marks through (C)ENT and to the right of the denomination from a clashing event with Obverse 94.

Comments:  With the exception of the initial date impression located at the bottom of the lower loop, the remaining artifacts within  both loops of the 6 appear to be anything  but initial date impressions.  However, close examination at an angle reveals that the artifacts within both loops of the 6 are the result of an initial date impression to the east.  The second image of the repunched 6, which is located in the 'Obverse Diagnostics' and illustrates the artifacts within the upper loop more clearly, seems to add credibility of an initial date impression to the east.

I suspect that Obverse 94 received two initial date impressions, before the final date placement.  One impression was positioned slightly north with respect to the final date placement, with the initial date impressions to be found within both loops of the 9 and at the bottom of the lower loop of the 6.  The second impression was far to the east with respect to the final date placement, with the initial date impressions to be found within both loops of the 6.

Varieties 97 and 97a were first identified by David Killough, who submitted both Plate Coins during mid may 2020 for inclusion in this book based on the date repunching of Obverse 94.
