Obverse 37 is identified by date placement at RE and misplaced 07 digits in the denticles below and to the left of the primary 07 of the date.  Obverse 37 has developed moderately heavy to heavy die flow lines.

Reverse AK is in a similar die state as Obverse 37, with the advancement of moderately heavy to heavy die flow lines.

Comments:  The Obverse 37 misplaced digits are a result of an initial digit punch impression that was far to the southwest with respect to the final date placement.  It should be noted that the initial digit punch impression, which exhibited no deviation in rotation in regard to the primary date placement, should have left the remnants of the top of the 9 in the denticles below and to the left of the primary 9 of the date. However, close examination failed to reveal any other digit punch impression artifacts in this area as would be expected from the overlay I performed.

The Obverse 37 misplaced 7 digit is identical in location to that of the misplaced 7 digit of Obverse 63 from the 1907 Variety 61 die pairing.

Plate coin:  Craig McClain Collection, XF40
