Reverse AAAL Die Crack Mapping

Die Crack From 6:45 (Click Image To Enlarge)

Obverse 91 is identified by date placement at RE and date repunching to the east within the lower loop of the 9 and to the west within the 0

Reverse AAAL has developed the following die crack:
1.  Radial die crack from the rim at 6:45 upward through the arrow quill, olive leaves and into the field across from the ribbon knot.

Comments:  I suspect that Obverse 91 received an initial date impression that was counter clockwise with respect to the final date placement.  In addition, there are raised areas within the lower loop of the 9 and within the 0 that may possibly be the result of the Mint effacing additional initial digit punch artifacts from the working die.

Variety 89 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during mid May 2020 for inclusion in this book based on the date repunching of Obverse 91.
