Obverse 90 is observed with date placement at C, artifact connecting the upper and lower loop of the 6 and a small triangular artifact above the lower ball of the 3.  Obverse 90 has developed moderately heavy die flow lines and rim breaks between 2:15 and 3:30 as well as between 4:45 and 5:30.

Reverse AAAQ is rotated 9 degrees counter clockwise.  Reverse AAAQ is identified by concentric lathe lines that encompass the vertical shield bars and the entire wreath.  In addition, Reverse AAAQ is identified by numerous lint hub-through artifacts that are located within the horizontal shield bars, denticles and within the wreath.  Reverse AAAQ has developed light die flow lines and the following die crack:
1.  Heavy die crack from the rim at 2:15 downward through the right wreath to the rim at 4:00.

Comments:  The Reverse AAAQ lathe lines are similar to the lathe lines of Obverse 20 from the  1864 Bronze Variety 14 Die Pairing.

Variety 93 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during mid May 2020 for inclusion in this book based on the die lines and die cracking of Reverse AAAQ.

Further examination of David's coin reveals differences in die state between Obverse 90 and Reverse AAAQ, where Obverse 90 has developed  moderately heavy die flow lines and Reverse AAAQ has developed light die flow lines.  This observation of the differing die states of Variety 93 may indicate that Obverse 90 was in service prior to Variety 93.  The following illustrates the difference in die state between Obverse 90 and Reverse AAAQ:
