Reverse AAAAA Die Crack Mapping

Obverse 64 is observed with date placement at right half of denticle.  Obverse 64 has cracked, developed rim breakage on the right side and acquired clash marks from two clashing events with Reverse AAAAA.

Reverse AAAAA has cracked and has acquired clash marks from two clashing events with Obverse 64.

Comments:   The Variety 46 Plate Coin represents a late die state of this die pairing with the surfaces of both Obverse 64 and Reverse AAAAA deteriorated due to the development of die flow lines.  As a result of this surface deterioration, an accurate Obverse 64 Die Crack Mapping is not possible, though Obverse 64 has cracked at (18)64 and other locations within the legend.

Variety 46 was first identified by John Grimmer, who submitted the above plate coin during late May 2026 for inclusion in this book.
