Clash Mark Through The C Of CENT

Obverse 27 is identified by date placement at C and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the east within the lower loop of the 8 and lower loops of both 9 digits.  Obverse 27 has developed moderately heavy to heavy die flow lines and has acquired a clash mark in front of the eye of Miss Liberty from a clashing event with Reverse AA.

Reverse AA is rotated 7 degrees clockwise and is in a similar die state as Obverse 27, with the advancement of moderately heavy to heavy die flow lines.  Reverse AA has acquired a clash mark through the C of CENT from a clashing event with Obverse 27.

Comments:  The clashing event between Obverse 27 and Reverse AA occurred during a working die rotation of 7 degrees, with this rotation most likely being static throughout the service of Variety 23.
