Obverse 21 is identified by a large die gouge from the denticles at 8:45 through the T of UNITED and a smaller die gouge just above the larger one.  Date placement is at LH, with the date positioned right of center. Obverse 21 is in a later die state with die flow lines visible.

Reverse T is rotated 9 degrees clockwise and is in a similar die state as Obverse 21, with die flow lines visible.  Reverse T is also noted with a lack of denticle detail from 10:00 to 12:00.

Comments:  The die die gouges of Obverse 21 were applied to the obverse working die and the presence of some artifacts within the denticles on the left side of Obverse 21 seem to be associated with the die gouges.  I may only assume some flaw on the left edge of the working die was addressed and the file approached too far into the face of the die.

Plate Coin:  Craig McClain Collection, MS63RB
