Reverse AG Die Crack Mapping


Die Crack Between 3:30 and 5:00

Obverse 33 is identified by date placement at B with date repunching that features two initial date impressions to the south below the base of the 1; initial date impressions to the south below the base and to the north above the ball of the 9; initial date impressions to the northwest inside the lower right of the loop of the 0; initial date impressions to the north within the lower loop and north above the lower loop of the 6.  Obverse 33 has developed light die flow lines.

Reverse AG is rotated 8 degrees clockwise and is in a similar die state as Obverse 33, with the advancement of light die flow lines.  Reverse AG develops the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the rim at 3:30 downward through the wreath to the rim at 5:00.
2.  Light die crack from the denticles at 7:15 down through the wreath.

Comments:  Obverse 33 will later be paired with Reverse AH during the Variety 33 die pairing.

Variety 32 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during mid February 2017 for inclusion in this book based on the date repunching of Obverse 33.
