Obverse 93 is observed with date placement at LH.

Reverse AAAS has developed a partial cud between (1:15 and 2:45) and a retained cud between (2:45 and 4:00).  Reverse AAAS has developed the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the rim at 12:00 extends downward through the horizontal shield bars to the left wreath.
2.  Die crack from the rim at 4:30 extends upward through the lower and middle arrowheads to the retained cud.
3.  Die crack from the rim at 8:00 extends upward through the left wreath.

Comments:  Variety 96 was first identified in 'The Cud Book' by Sam Thurman and Arnold Margolis, with a reference number of IC-06-1R RET.  The above plate coin is the IC-06-1R RET Plate Coin in the 'The Cud Book'.

I have taken the liberty of utilizing the term 'partial cud' to describe the section between 1:15 and 2:45 based on the observation that the section at 1:15 has not yet completely separated from the working die, whereas the section between 2:45 and 4:00 is a genuine retained cud.
