Obverse 14

Reverse N

Obverse Diagnostics

Date Position

Reverse Diagnostics

Retained Die Cud Between 8:45 and 9:30

Obverse 14 is observed with date placement at B.  Obverse 14 is in a later die state with die flow lines visible from the denticles to the bottom of the date and tops of the legend.

Reverse N has developed a retained die cud from 8:45 to 9:30.

Comments:  The Reverse N retained cud is very similar in size, shape and location to the Reverse AB retained cud from the 1862 Variety 26 die pairing, which develops a deeper break than the Reverse N break.

Plate Coin:  Keith Bock Collection, G4 Details
