The second usage of Obverse 20.  Obverse 20 is identified by date placement at C and concentric lathe lines that are located on most of the portrait.  Obverse 20 has acquired clash marks in front of the eye of Miss Liberty, is observed with a raised artifact above '(O)F' and has developed the following die crack:
1.  Die crack connects the tops of 'STA(TE)S'.

Reverse AAAI has yet to be observed with any die markers.

Comments:  The Obverse 20 lathe lines were imparted on the Obverse 20 working die by the reduction lathe.  It is theorized that the Obverse 20 working die may have been reengraved directly via the reduction lathe in order to strengthen the design on the face of the working die.

Variety 36 represents the second usage of Obverse 20, which was previously in service paired with Reverse W of the 1864 Bronze Variety 14 Die Pairing.
