Reverse Die Stage B Die Crack from Shield to Rim at 11:30

Comments:  Date placement is C.  Obverse 6 is characterized by repunching of the entire date to the north, with additonal repunching on the 18 to the south.  As with obverse 4 and 5, the repunching is most likely the result of pivoting of the digit punch, where the pivot point is the 4.  During die stage B, early signs of die erosion begin to be seen.

Reverse AA shows clash marks above the O of ONE and to the right of the denomination, a die crack from top left of the shield to the rim at 11:30 and die erosion during die stage B.  It is not clear what obverse caused the clash marks, as obverse 6 is absent of clash marks.  Although the plate coin shows no die rotation, I have seen a PCGS VF35 example in die stage B with a reverse die rotation of approximately 10 degrees clockwise.  The coin was on the internet site Ebay, therefore an accurate measurement was not possible.
