Reverse Die Stage C Die Crack from Rim at 5:00 to 6:00

Die Stage B Die Crack at 11:00

Die Stage C Die Crack at 12:00

Comments:  Date placement is LE.  Obverse 8 is characterized by repunching of the entire date to the north, with additonal repunching on the 18 to the south.  Die stage B is observed with clash marks between the feathers from a clash with reverse AC.  During die stage C, obverse 8 begins to exhibit signs of die erosion.

Reverse AC is observed with bulging at 6:00.  During die stage B, a die crack forms from 11:00 downward through the left wreath and clash marks from a clash with obverse 8, while reverse AC is rotated 13 degrees clockwise.  Die stage C is observed with the development of die cracks at 12:00, in the wreath at 2:00 and from the rim at 5:00 to the rim at 6:00.  In addition, die erosion is evident as is the case with the obverse above.

In examples I have seen of the variety 6 die pair, all have exhibited reverse die rotation of 13 degrees clockwise.  However, Rick Snow indicates observing a die rotation of 5 degrees counter clockwise.
