Repunched 64

Obverse 24 is identified by date placement at LE, with date repunching that features initial date impressions to the west on the left side of the bottom loop of the 8, to the west on the left side of the 6 and to the west above the left base of the 4.

Reverse AAQ is rotated 7 degrees clockwise.

Comments:  In regard to the Obverse 24 date repunching, the 4 digit may exhibit an additional related initial date impression to the left of the upper diagonal bar.  However, it is difficult to determine if this is a genuine initial date impresson or a hit because of the environmental damage on the plate coin.  Similarly, a related initial date impression may be evident within the lower loop of the 6.  In order to appreciate the full extent of initial date impressions of Obverse 28, another example will be necessary.

Variety 28 was identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during late July 2017 for inclusion in this book based on the Obverse 24 date repunching.
