Die Crack From Cud

Clash Marks Right Of Denomination

Obverse 25 is observed with date placement at C.  Obverse 25 has acquired clash marks between feathers 8 and 9 from a clashing event with Reverse AAU and has developed the following die crack:
1.  Die crack from the denticles at 7:00 extends along the base of the date.

Reverse AAU has acquired clash marks located to the right of the denomination from a clashing event with Obverse 25.   Reverse AAU develops a large cud between 7:30 and 9:45 and the following die crack:
1.  Die crack extending from the lower section of the cud and extending downward through the olive leaves.

Comments:  Variety 30 was first identified by Keith Bock, who submitted the previous Variety 30 Plate Coin during early July 2018 for inclusion in this book based on the Reverse AAU cud.  During early January 2021, I acquired the above plate coin to replace Keith's example.  The New Variety 30 Plate Coin allowed for a better attribution that was not possible with Keith's G4 example due to damage.

Plate Coin:  D. Poliquin Collection, VG8
