Obverse 9 is identified by date placement at C and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the south below the serif of the 1 and above the lower loops of the first and second 6.  Obverse 9 has acquired clash marks in front of the face of Miss Liberty from a clashing event with Reverse K.  Obverse 9 has developed the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the denticles at 8:15 extends upward connecting the tops of 'UNI(TED)'.
2.  Die crack from the denticles at 10:00 extends upward connecting the tops of 'ST(ATE)S'.

Reverse K has acquired a clash mark through (C)ENT from a clashing event with Obverse 9.  Reverse K has developed a partial cud between 2:30 and 3:45 and the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the rim at 12:30 extends downward into the top right of the shield.
2.  Die crack extends downward from the upper right side of the shield and into the right wreath.
3.  Die crack from the rim at 1:30 extends downward through the outer edge of the right wreath to the top of the partial cud.
4.  Die crack from the rim at 9:00 extends downward through the left wreath and olive leaves.
5.  Die crack extends upward through the left wreath from die crack #4 at the outer oak leaf at 9:00.

Comments:  Reverse K will continue to degrade, with the area between 2:30 and 3:45 eventually completely breaking away from the die body and creating a break in this area.  With the formation of a subsequent die break, Reverse K will be retired and replaced with a different reverse that will be paired with Obverse 9.
