Die Crack from 1:15 to 2:15

Die Crack from ITED to 9:30

Die Cracks through States to  11:45

Reverse Diagnostics


Radial Die Crack from 1:30

Obverse 12 is observed with date placement at RH, with a slight upward slope of the date.  Obverse 12 features clash marks to the left and top of the portrait.  The following die cracks are noted:
1.  Die crack from the denticles at 1:15 connecting the tops of OF and exiting at 2:15.
2.  Die crack from 9:30 connecting the tops of ITED of UNITED
3.  Die crack from 9:30 connecting the tops of STATES and exiting at the denticles at 11:45.  
4.  Die crack from the denticles at 10:15 joins the crack from #3 and exits through the denticles at 11:00

Reverse O is observed with central bulging and clash marks to the left and right of the denomination.  Reverse O develops the following die crack:
1.  Moderately large radial die crack from the rim at 1:30 towards the E of ONE.

Comments:  Obverse 12 will later be paired with Reverse R during the variety 18 die pairing.

Variety 15 was first identified by this author during early September 2015.
