Obverse 25 is observed with date placement at LH. Obv. 25.2:
Obverse 25 has cracked.
The second usage of
Reverse F. Reverse F is rotated 15 degrees
counter clockwise and is observed with die subsidence at 6:00 and 7:15.
Reverse F has acquired multiple clash marks from clashing
events during its previous assignment and has developed additional die
cracking, namely the radial die crack from 12:00. Rev. F.3:
Reverse F has now developed a partial cud between 9:00 and
10:00.
Comments: Reverse
F was previously in service paired with Obverse 5 during the 1866 Variety 6 Die Pairing.
The die subsidence of Reverse F is characterized by raised areas at
6:00 and 7:15, with some of the detail of the upper olive leaf lacking
due to the raised nature of the subsidence. It should be
noted that the Reverse F Die Subsidence was also present during the
initial usage of Reverse F.
Variety 31 was first identified by this author during mid May 2016.
