Obverse 16 is observed with date placement at LH.  Obverse 16 has acquired a clash mark in front of the eye of Miss Liberty from a clashing event with Reverse D.

Reverse D is rotated approximately 19 degrees counter clockwise and is identified by heavy die lines through the ribbon bow and to the left of (C)ENT.  Reverse D has developed a retained cud between 3:00 and 4:15 and the following die cracks:
1.  Light die crack from right wreath downward through the field and CEN(T) to just above the ribbon.
2.  Radial die crack from the rim at 2:30 extends through the right wreath and intersects die crack #1.
3.  Radial die crack from the bottom of the retained cud extends through the middle and upper arrow shafts.
4.  Radial die crack from the rim at 7:00 extends upward through the olive leaves.
5.  Die crack segment extends from die crack #4 at the first olive leaf and extends upward along the bottom edge of the olive leaf above.
6.  Radial die crack from the rim at 9:30 extends through the left wreath and field, where it approaches (O)NE.
7.  Radial cie crack from the rim at 11:30 extends downward throgh the left edges of the horizontal shield bars.

Comments:  Variety 16 was first identified by this author during mid September 2019.

Reverse D was previously in service paired with Obverse 4 during the 1867 Variety 4 Die Pairing.
