1907 Variety 24

Obverse 26

Reverse Z

Obverse Diagnostics

Date Position

Repunched 9 to the East

Obverse 26 is identified by repunching to the east on the 9, with an upward slope of the date and date placement of LH.  Obverse 26 is in an interim die state, with the beginning of light die flow lines.

Reverse Z is in a similar die state as obverse 26, with the beginning of light die flow lines.

Comments:  Variety 24 was first brought to my attention in 2013, when Russ Doughty presented a VG10 to the Fly-in club forum.  During January 2015, Ed Nathanson was kind enough to submit his AU50 example for inclusion in this book.

The repunching of obverse 26 is very similar to the repunching of obverse 3 of the 1907 variety 1 die pairing.
