Obverse 23 is identified by date placement at RE and date repunching that features initial date impressions to the south under the serif and base of the 1 and to the north within the bottom of the lower and upper loops of both 9 digits.  Obverse 23 has developed heavy die flow lines and has acquired clash marks in front of the eye and between feathers 7-9 from a clashing event with Reverse W.

Reverse W is in a similar die state as Obverse 23, with the advancement of heavy die flow lines.  Reverse W has acquired clash marks to the right of the denomination and through the C of CENT from a clashing event with Obverse 23.

Comments:  The Obverse 23 date repunching of the last 9 is almost identical to the date repunching of Obverse 46 of the Variety 42 die pairing.
